So are there any other Plastic Canvas fans running around here? I started a few years ago as a way to exercise my hand after surgery and quickly became addicted, no more cross stitch for me..lol... I love the 3-d quality and the variety. I run a group on yahoo where we do several trades each month, finished items only, no patterns due to copyright laws.
I have met so many great ladies since i took up the hobby.

I have plastic canvas circles and squares of all sizes. I also have lots of yarn and a few plastic canvas kits.
I haven't made anything yet. Kind of scared to start. You know how those new projects can be.
I would be interested in any tips you have for a beginner.
Thanks

The way I learned was to just jump right in, both feet first..lol. If you are unsure of the stitches try www.stitchguide.com they have videos of all the stitches for pc and other crafts as well, it's a great site. And if you are looking for some patterns to try , www.freepatterns.com is fantastic, just make sure to chck out the basement section, they move a lot of the patterns there after a certain amount of time.
If you ever have any other questins you can email me at plasticcanvasnut@hotmail.com, that's where I get all my group mail..lol

Thank you Voodoit. I got out two kits tonight. One is a Halloween wall hanging and the other is a Halloween candy dish. They look like fun. After I get the laundry caught up I'm going to start on one of them.

That's great! One I started I just couldn't start, it's so easy to make great gifts my only problem is I never get to keep anything I make for myself. :(
