BUGS - if I see another cricket or another maple bug I'm going to get the BIGGEST truck that does exterminating and spray the whole dang town.

I use to enjoy listening to the sounds of crickets, now they drive me crazy with only one! If I hear it, I'm spraying.

Then there are these Maple bugs - the ugliest bug I've ever seen. They are now having babies and thousands of them, which are little red things and again pretty ugly. So now I have to spray the water hose and dish soap and that gets rid of them.

Not to be out done are the house flies and the mosquitoes. The mosquitoes are usually gone this time of the year but this year is all upside down because of the weather.

SO if you plan on homesteading in the country - remember there are BUGS!! Purchase lots of bug spray and be ready for battle. I'll get those little suckers yet and if I don't, a good frost will. :toothy:

CJ - I hate bugs too. Here we have to put up with tons of geckos (lizards).

I know what you mean. We have lots of flies and mosquitoes, too. For some reason this year, we also have a lot of snakes! Every time I go out to the garden, there is a snake running past my feet. Nothing poisonous, just annoying little things. Then there are the spiders who are leaving eggs all over the window screens and on the rope of the clothesline! I have switched from rope clothes line to the plastic coated because of those darn spiders!

Bugs and snakes aside, I still enjoy the country life.
