View Full Version : Things have been crazy...Update
dolphin 01-24-2008, 03:08 AM We're still waiting to find out if we can keep the house. Our mortgage guy set up a payment date for Friday by Western Union but we still have to get our ' hardship review' approved. So we're waiting on that. The reason it is taking longer is because they needed dh's new paystub from his new job. Ok, thank goodness he got the new job and worked 40 hours the first week. :cheergrl: But things have flip flopped since then. Last week he only got to work 3 days. Then they said no work for Mon. and Tues. So today he goes into work and they shut down the whole company and layed everyone off! :sigh: :sigh: Apparently the new company had a 3 million dollar job scheduled and the company that was to pay has rescheduled or bailed, they aren't sure yet. :sigh: So dh will go back on unemployment starting this week. He'll have to file a new claim. Hopefully there will be enough money in the new claim to keep us going till he can find other work. There are just no jobs here! The last 2 weeks have been VERY stressful around here. Most of the time I have truely felt like ....:lalala:..
Like so many on here right now, you're just afraid to breathe a sigh of relief because it seems like if you do, you get slammed again. But, we're not giving up hope, just trying to get by. :sigh:
Daisygirl 01-24-2008, 06:26 AM Oh, wow. That is a terrible break for your DH! I hope you get some money from unemployment.
That which does not kill us makes us stronger......or perhaps makes us a raging alcoholic!(lol)
Keep your chin up - things may yet turn around!

I hope things get much better for you soon! Sh and I have been in a similiar situation before, and I know exactly how you feel about stopping to take a breath...you just feel like you can't do it!
Hang in there! Life, lemons...lemonade, and all that junk! It'll get better!

dolphin 01-26-2008, 08:55 PM Thank you all so very much for your encouragement, prayers, and good thoughts. They are helping and they make me feel better knowing we aren't alone in this.
No word from the mortgage guy yet. I left 2 messages starting at 7:30 am and called his direct extension 5 times total on Friday, lol. He never answered or called back. So, :call: we're still waiting for news on the house.
Dh is still unemployed but the company that just layed him off told him Thursday night that things should be picking up soon. He is getting letters of recommendation this week from some companies and friends here in town where he has worked so that should he have to head to Vegas again for work, he will have a little backup.
I sold a bunch of stuff this week and did fantastic. I was able to catch up the bank account and it's now in the black instead of red. I was also able to pay the tax payment and buy a few groceries. What a relief!
We aren't giving up, we're still trying our best to stay out of bankruptcy and keep the house. Dh is the shopper in our family since I had my surgery in April and he had to learn how to do everything around here. He's good at finding the deals and is learning to stockpile so we do have food. Maybe enough to last 2 months so we're ok on that score.
We are survivors so we will keep on going. Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers and please keep them coming. Carolyn
kaykwilts 01-26-2008, 09:23 PM I hope things work out for ya'll. Everyone needs to keep praying that your DH will get a job and that ya'll get to keep your home.
momtoadiva 01-26-2008, 11:17 PM I'm so proud you have such a good disposition on your situation and that will take you such a long way. Have you talk to your bank about cutting some of the nsf charges? I use to work for a bank and if we see that ppl haven't done it alot in the past and are trying and willing to make a plan to get the acct back in the black we would forgive some charges? Also if you haven't get some assistance that is what it's for right now if you could file for food stamps I'm sure it would take some of the stress off. Keep going strong we're all cheering for you and your family :grwave:
