Just updating re the layoff situation. We had a meeting with our supervisor and it looks like I am safe for the next six months! :relieved:

They will be revisiting things after the new financial year (July 08) but I can be completely out of debt by July 1 if I stick to the plan and keep buckled down. Then they can do their worst. I am going to keep building up that stockpile though :)

Great news, that gives you a little for more time to get your ducks in a row in case the layoff does happen down the road.

We know what you have been going through. Great to hear that things are calm on the homefront for now. We are holding our breath here. Dh's company is laying off 50. But no one knows who yet. We are just going from Friday to Friday with our fingers crossed.

great news. I would also not count on six months. If things change they can change their mind. I would count six months like a bonus.
