I live in the country, albeit a small rural town but surrounding me is wheat fields for miles and miles. This is the time of the year when the farmers are harvesting their wheat. Many are finished although the flax is still not harvested.

From spring onwards, we watch as the wheat springs out of the fields, first looking like a lush carpet you can walk on, then growing taller and blowing in the wind. It begins to riped and you see fields of gold, yellow or even blue live a lake from one grain and then comes harvest time.

During harvest time, you see them cutting and then the combining and there is something magic about watching because you know that wheat brings life.

Here is a website telling you about how they do it and the different types of wheat. Enjoy!
