Lets talk about our ultimate homesteading dream.

Mine would have to be with our home purchased on an acreage, with some cows eating in the fields, some chickens running around the yard and my being able to raise German Shepherds. It would be filled with children laughing (more than I have) and dh at home, not working outside of the homestead.

Tell us about your dream.

Buying my friends 160 acres, but have it near my old town. I would build a off/on the grid home. Have Amish as neighbors and freinds. Hubby would be retired with enough income we can live nicely. AND i would have a grain grinder. lol

I would love to have 100 acres on the river. It would have laying hens, a couple of cows and maybe a goat or two. I would love to have a lamb for a pet. I would also have a hog , for meat. I would have lots of dogs and even more cats.:) I would have a huge garden and grow everything we need. A gazebo would be nice, I would need it (for rest) after working my huge garden, lol.
Inside, I would have a Homecomfort wood cookstove(I have dreamed of this for years)lots of kerosene lamps and a huge lot of Countryside and Country Woman magazines to read.:smball: I think I have just described my uncles' house, about two miles up the road. :toothy:

I want an old farmhouse on a dirt road, lots of acres surrounding it. I want to have a large garden, raise all our own meat, and have a few chickens for laying. I'd love a grove of nut trees, especially hickory nuts. Lots of fruit trees and bushes. In my spare time (yeah right) I'd quilt. I love dreams.

Since writing this, we've found the farm that would have been our dream farm. We still dream it might be ours some day.
