Do any of you who mystery shop keep track of your mileage on your car so that you can take a deduction on your income tax? I was just wondering. I was thinking about signing up for mystery shopping.

I don't think the write off would be worth it for me. dolphin 09-29-2002, 02:32 AM I have only done one shop and it was in town (24 miles round trip). I think most people do the shops when they are running other errands so they have to be there anyway. Some mystery shops will pay you mileage but they keep up with the mileage for you. Most people who mystery shop don't consider it a business where they need to keep track of expenses and/or get a business license. There are some mystery shops (few) that require your ss# to participate but mostly those are for the merchandising jobs. They are like real/payroll jobs and they send you a record of your earnings for taxes. I just do it for fun and free stuff. :) ConnieMS 10-06-2002, 11:51 AM Where is the best place to sign up to be a mystery shopper ?? 2boys4amy 10-07-2002, 12:21 PM I signed up at Mysteryshop.com, secretshopper.com and a few others. I did a search on Google for secret shoppers. I found several that way. THe one that has given me the most shops, however, is mystershop.com. Good luck!! |
