View Full Version : Am getting the Complete Tightwad Gazette...
luv-my-lexi 03-14-2008, 01:04 PM I am so excited.....I have been watching on e-bay the prices for The Complete Tightwad Gazette and someone put it on a buy it now with free shipping. All of the others I was watching were going for more than the BIN price I paid and they also had to pay shipping. I can't wait to get the book and get started with my reading. :teddy2:
nuisance26 03-14-2008, 01:08 PM ~Cool! I waited around for a great bargain too. I remember I paid $10 at Amazon for mine with free shipping. Happy reading!~
goat21 03-14-2008, 01:11 PM I just got mine the other day. I, too, went through Amazon but I didn't get the free shipping.
The total, with shipping, was $16.99.

Holly 03-14-2008, 01:23 PM Great.
Enjoy reading it I do.
Find something new every time I reread it
wannabedebtfree 03-14-2008, 02:05 PM I purchased mine the other day. Ready and eager to begin becoming more tightwad(er?)
I'm rereading my copy right now too! I get so inspired.
I may have *gasp* paid full retail price of 18.95 for it a year ago, but it really was money well invested. I don't think I've bought a book since!
getnrichslowly 03-16-2008, 06:07 PM It's a great book to have around, I read it over and over.
prairiewife 03-16-2008, 11:18 PM I still read mine. I hear a lot of complaints that it's outdated and the costs she uses don't apply today, but I think her basic message of frugality is timeless. I always get inspired rereading her articles.
bee9984 03-16-2008, 11:39 PM That is great! I just took mine back out this evening to go over.
Try to have a note book and pen handy so you can mark down the pages you would like refer back to as there is no table of contents.
Have fun! :)
POOTERSMOMMY 03-17-2008, 12:32 PM Hope you like it, as well as I do. Mine has tattered corners, and higlighted areas all throughout it. I get mine out every so often to read. Always get something out of it.
ENJOY
jettsmom 04-02-2008, 05:12 PM I think I'm going to pull mine out again. I remember getting it several years ago really cheap from amazon. I want to say $5. I just remember it being too good a deal to pass up.
xtena 04-24-2008, 06:36 PM After checking it out of the library multiple times last year, I finally bought a Complete TG on Amazon for my Christmas present to myself. I don't care if a small amount of the advice is 'dated' most of it is timeless!

Mo-BayMom 05-18-2008, 10:19 AM That's one of my favorite books...I found it used can't remember where I got it but paid next to nothing for it.
Some of her stuff is outdated but its still great information.
acidcookie 05-18-2008, 01:47 PM Hey I think I got mine on eBay too, a year ago. LOVE it.
Frugal Nurse 05-18-2008, 02:40 PM I read mine like the Bible! lol
Really ... it's timeless reminders of what we can do to help decrease the need (stress) of that other job.
