I found an article on Yahoo that says that employers slashed 80,000 jobs last month! Unemployment rates are up to 5.1%!

businesses are closing. It's so hard to find jobs because teenagers are competing with adults. It's nuts in Michigan

According to Sen. Hoekstra the ur in Michigan is like 6.8%...our residents would give anything for 5.1%. Our jobs will continue to disappear if the gov't allows American companies to move their operations out of the country without penalizing them for doing so. IMHO

Thanks for the article. Hard times are everywhere and it's sad.
It is really sad.
My company made an announcement that they were closing this May. They laid off employees in waves. The first wave was November, then January and then Feb. 95% of the people that were laid off still do not have a job as of yet.
I have been very fortunate as they decided that they were going to keep the remaining employees and keep the facility open. It's crazy as there is only 14 of us and 1 employee in England.

It really stinks that the rat eis so high. Especially since now is just when the prices of everything keep going up and up. Many people are just barely hanging on as it is. Loosing a job or not even being able to find one is crushing.

I know. Where I lived in Germany, unemployment was the highest in the region at 14-15%! 5% doesn't seem all that terrible anymore in comparision, though we all would wish for full employment. I have seen quite a few more homeless lately where I used to see none. :/
