my boy's truck
My car died a while ago and I've been using my boy's extra pickup for our once-a-week shopping trips. Well he's giving me the truck. It's basically a clunker that runs ('96 chevy). I took money from my ING car buying account and paid CASH for my car insurance...first time in a loonnnggg time that happened. I'll be transferring it next month.
In the Spring he'll drop in another motor...this one burns oil.
Even tho' it's 4wd, I'm looking on CL and elsewhere for a matching set of used snows. Also looking for a cap so I can haul stuff dry.
So, basically, I'm getting transportation for next to nothing...beats a car loan by a mile or two.

UPDATE - I gave the truck back to him today...bought a '98 Durango gas hog for $5,000...didn't have to go to the bank for the money. It has 76,000 original miles, small V-8, immaculate leather interior, very good body. OK, ok, I did hit my heloc for 2 grand, but if you check my sig...the snowball...NO, avalanche is headed towards the heloc...plan on paying it completely off within 12 months.
