Homemade playdough
Recipe DescriptionHomemade playdough: I made this when I taught pre-school. It was taught to be my the veteran pre-school teachersPreparation Steps:Mix all the wet ingredients together in a bowlLevel of Difficulty:
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a sauce panmediumTime Needed:Ingredients:Dry ingredients:Serves:
1 cup white flour
1/2 salt
2teaspoons cream of tartar
Wet ingredients:
1 cup water
6-7 drops food coloring
1Tablespoon cooking oila good size to play withDirections:Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until all mixed together.
Cook over medium heat until mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan and looks like playdough (approx 3 mins)
Dump mixture onto wax paper or foil to cool. When it has lost some heat and is cool enough to touch, kneed the dough.
Store in an air tight conatiner for longest shelf life.
Side note this recipe can be doubled but doesn't work well if you try to make a bigger than a double batch at a time
