Cook your veggies (usually celery and onion) in butter or some type of fat in a fry pan until they are soft. Mix with bread cubes. If you toast the bread, or if it is a bit on the stale side, it will soak up liquid more easily.

Pour enough stock (chicken or veg) over the bread mixture to make it moist but not soggy. Stuffing will get more moisture from your turkey, so don't go overboard on the stock. Season with poultry seasoning and extra sage if this is what you like, salt and pepper. Stuff into the cavity of your bird.

If you have lots of stuffing, it may not all fit into the bird. For this you can bake it in a greased dish covered with foil. You may have to add a slight bit more stock if you bake it in a dish, because you won't get the juices from the bird.

    Sit back and enjoy yummmm!

    Stuffing is evil!!!

I dunno...my personal take on it - stuffing goes inside the bird cavity. Dressing is cooked outside the bird in a casserole dish. Also another thought, is calling it 'dressing' a Canadian thing?

Found this article which may help?

PS: Ashley - salad dressing is for those that need to disguise the taste of their veggies in their natural state LOL heard that from some comedian on tv.
