    How's it working out?

Here's another favorite (Cinnamon Rolls) of ours ... it uses the 'manual' cycle:

Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls for the ABM - 75775 - Recipezaar

I make these ahead and freeze in the pan that I'll bake them in. The day before I want them for breakfast, I take them out of the freezer to thaw in the fridge. When I wake up in the night (usually a couple hours before I need to feed people), I put them in a cold oven with the light on to rise.

This one is good too; (breadsticks) also using 'manual':

    Olive Garden Breadsticks - 232279 - Recipezaar

I had a really busy week and week end and didn't have time to use my R2D2. And I really wanted to make my family cinnamon rolls.

I rescued a stray dog this week and she has taken alot of time( flea dip, worm medicine, new food etc.)

We are having our home appraised w/in the next week, so I am busy trying to make a good first impression. I spent all weekend sprucing up the front and back porch and cleaning out closets. I probably went overboard, but the Spring Cleaning bug hit me.

Any way, I hope to get back on track tomorrw.

    Thanks for the recipe.

    WHAT??????????

Welllllllllll...........I don't know about you but I could probably eat a WHOLE LOAF of hot bread of any kind..........right out of the machine!!!

And my last venture of making HOME MADE BUTTER.........along with hot bread............just about put me into TENT DRESSES for the rest of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got the 'more satisfying' part correct though......

Oh, I know that temptation well! Well, you do know that it's not a good idea to cut into a hot loaf of bread - it will turn gummy. Just like other things you cook, the bread continues to cook even after removed from the ABM or oven - the residual heat is cooking it and driving out moisture. If you slice it now, your loaf won't be as nice and won't stay as fresh. Now DON'T use this as justification to eat the whole loaf!!!!

I usually bake in the oven, even if using the ABM to mix, and what I usually do is make a little loaf - like the size of two-three cupcakes, so that I (or we, if I'm generous) can tear into the little loaf while letting the main loaf cool appropriately.

If you manage to keep yourself from demolishing the whole thing (and, let's face it, it is GOOD for the soul to do this from time to time anyway!), I still think that you eat more intelligently when you eat home made bread - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!

I watched 2 videos on you tube about this machine and it looks simple.

I have never been able to make any homemade bread except for beer bread. So I am hoping this will do it.
Enjoy your bread machine. You surely can do a lot of great food from it. Try using your favorite ingredients in creating different breads.

How's your bread machine working out?

I found another R2D2 model at the thrift store this past week and snapped it up.

That brings me up to 3 of them!

Some people (like DH) might think that's excess clutter, but
    • Welbilt/Dak doesn't make them anymore
    • I have recipes for that breadmaker that my family likes.
    • If one of the others breaks, I can cannibalize the 3rd for parts.
    • If I ever get into OAMC, I can make a lot of bread dough at once.
    • I have some R2D2 recipes that my family likes; and, if one of my others goes out, I can cannibalize the 3rd for parts.

Now, I just need to figure how how to store 3 of those things!

My DH just bought me one of these bread machines at a garage sale today for $5.00. The only bad thing about that is it did not have a manual with it. Can anyone tell me how long the dough cycle takes from start to finish. I am wanting to use the machine to do all the hard work because I have bad carpal tunnel in both wrists and can not do the dough by hand. I can not find any place on the web to tell me how long this cycle takes. Thank you in advance to anyone who can answer this question for me. I can't wait to start using my new treasure.

I realize you can just set it and leave it but I was trying to find out how long it took so I wouldn't set it and then have to leave when it wasn't done.

Thank you Savvy_sniper, for the link of the manual. I found out what I needed to know! Thank you again.
