4 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups white flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
1 quart buttermilk (or soured milk)
4 tsp baking soda

Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine first 4 ingredients in large bowl. In separate bowl combine buttermilk and baking soda. Stir into dry mixture. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans and smooth tops. Place in center of oven and turn heat down to 350 F. Bake @ 50 minutes.

Turn out and cool on racks.

To make this a bit healthier I add 1 Tbsp each of wheat germ and oat bran to the measuring cup before adding the flour. Do this for each cup.

I use powdered milk and sour with vinegar.

This recipe is so quick and easy. And the bread's delicious!
