Natto - making at home
Natto Making at Home. Annotated Pictures.
http://www.durgan.org/ShortURL/?MUTSU Pictures, annotated of Natto making at home. The first effort.
Possibly can be used as a replacement for some of the junk food in our Western Society. Natto is common in Japanese cafeterias, and not all Japanese eat it. The mixture has been made for centuries amongst the farm people.
I first encountered this use of soy beans in Japan. It is a nourishing food, but many people find it a bit over-powering. Anyway I decided to make some.Durgan

Having lived in Japan for a couple of years, I don't see natto taking the place of junk food. As for the caption in the link, I have never smelled any natto that resembles fresh baked bread. To me it is a disgusting mixture that resembles snot and smells horrible. But some japanese people love it. Of course, most Japanese people hate root beer, to them it tastes like cough syrup. To each his own.
