    Greatness

It's not what you take, but what you
    leave behind that defines greatness.

    Be Kind

Some of the shells that wash up on the beach were once very beautiful,
you don't know what kind of journey they had to take to get them in their
fragile shape, same with people, be kind.

If you are clear where you are going and you take several steps in that direction every day, you eventually have to get there. If I head north out of Santa Barbara and take five steps a day, eventually I have to end up in San Francisco. So decide what you want, write it down, review it constantly, and each day do something that moves you toward those goals.

If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you. You may have a fresh start
any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down.

Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

There is so much good in the worst of us,
And so much bad in the best of us,
That it hardly behooves any of us
To talk about the rest of us.

    Refuse to fall down.
If you cannot refuse to fall down,
    refuse to stay down.
If you cannot refuse to stay down,
    lift your heart toward heaven,
    and like a hungry beggar,
    ask that it be filled,
    and it will be filled.
    You may be pushed down.
You may be kept from rising.
But no one can keep you from
    lifting your heart toward heaven.

Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance toward the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vantage point. Climb slowly, steadily, enjoying each passing moment; and the view from the summit will serve as a fitting climax for the journey.

    “Spend time alone, every day.”

To be fully grounded, you need to be in touch with yourself. You need to hear and listen to your inner wisdom and nurture your inner strengths and dreams – none of which is possible when you’re actively focusing on the outer world.

Every day, find a place where you can be alone for a while. Shut off outside channels and be at one with yourself.

Count back from ten, letting the outside world stresses and thoughts leave, as you exhale with each count. Breathe in deeply and let the oxygen replenish your cells and your spirit. Feel the deep relaxation and contentment available at that moment in time.

When you give yourself this time alone, you’ll discover a new level of energy you didn’t’ know you had. You’ll also find the strength to manage challenges and enjoy the rest of each day.

Today’s Affirmation: I spend time alone

Compassion is not religious business, it is human business, it is not luxury, it is essential for our own peace and mental stability, it is essential for human survival.

We the decent people of the world stand for the kind of life that will be good for all of the people, all of the time, everywhere. We believe that this is a beautiful universe and that it is made for love and not for hate; for peace and not war; for freedom and not slavery; for order and not riot; for compassion and not violence; for happiness and not misery. We believe that the ultimate decency is to help people and never harm people, to lift people and not degrade them, and to respect the dignity of all people as individual human beings.

Giving tells the Universe that you believe you are provided for. For even as you empty your purse, you fear not. The act alone is a demonstration of faith that you will remain whole, that your coffers will be replenished, and that love is what matters most. And for whomsoever believes these things to be true, it shall become their reality, and abundance shall be showered upon them unceasingly, as if the heavens had opened up.

“The person you choose to be with should support your dreams and respect your values.”

Being accepted is a requirement in all relationships. Nobody wants to be with someone who rejects them for what they believe, or judges them for certain traits of their personality.

You’re entitled to your own decisions, beliefs, goals, etc. When someone truly loves you, they love the whole package you come in. This includes the physical you, the emotional you and the dreams and values that come along with you.

After all, that’s the true beauty of being an individual. And, the one you choose to be with should be grateful.

Many people think that if they were only in some other place, or had some other job, they would be happy. Well, that is doubtful. So get as much happiness out of what you are doing as you can and don’t put off being happy until some future date.

“You’re richer than 75% of this world.”

Many of us have dreamed of winning the lottery or fantasized about how happy we would be if only we had great wealth.

Compared to the bulk of the world, you are already enormously wealthy. You have possessions that most people only dream of, and access to opportunities that many women can hardly fathom. You have food in the fridge, clothes on your back and a roof over your head.

You have the wealth that others desire.
So, as you go through your daily tasks, treasure and appreciate everything you have. You can’t help but feel blessed when you look at your life through a window of gratitude.

    “Are you avoiding conflict?”

Do you avoid speaking your mind because you don’t want to rock the boat? Do you feel it’s just easier to avoid conflict?

When you don’t take initiative and express your own wants and needs, others make decisions for you – and chances are, they won’t always make the decisions you want! If this goes on long enough, you will start to feel misunderstood or taken for granted. Anger and resentment will grow and you’ll eventually erupt.
You are the only one who can decide to change this behavior!

Next time you’re asked what you want, don’t rush to say you don’t care. Stop and ask yourself, “What do I want?”

    Then, share it with conviction.

Most people are searching for happiness. They’re looking for it. They’re trying to find it in someone or something outside of themselves. That’s a fundamental mistake. Happiness is something that you are, and it comes from the way you think.

While many of us frequently do nice things for others, we are almost certain to mention our acts of kindness to someone else, secretly seeking their approval. When we share our own niceness or generosity with someone else, it makes us feel like we are thoughtful people, it reminds us of how nice we are and how deserving we are of kindness. While all acts of kindness are inherently wonderful, there is something even more magical about doing something thoughtful but mentioning it to no one, ever. You always feel good when you give to others. Rather than diluting the positive feelings by telling others about your own kindness, by keeping it to yourself you get to retain all the positive feelings. It’s really true that one should give for the sake of giving, not to receive something in return.
