Thought I might try this whole blogging thing as another tool to help in my pursuit of a debt-free life.

My main goal is to be able to purchase a house. I have good credit as does my significant boyfriend (SB) However, due to poor financial decisions when I was young and married/in school/getting divorced, I relied on credit cards a bit too much. Because of this, my income to debt ratio will not qualify me for...well...anything anywhere that I'd want to live.

I am a bartender/server at the most upscale hotel in Baton Rouge. Perhaps not the best way to use my degree, but the money is great, I get full benefits and only work 30 hours a week. This gives me plenty of time to work on my side-projects/business. I am working on starting a wedding coordination business

http://web.me.com/allikolb/la_soiree/Welcome.html

I am also an avid artist and photographer and am working on building an etsy based art-store. Currently my photography can be found at http://www.artfire.com/users/BR_artsy_gal

I live with my long-term boyfriend and 2 other roomates, along with 3 dogs. We don't eat out unless we have a coupon/deal, only go out when we know we can do it for super cheap, coupon clip and shop sales for groceries and do as much as we can to save up for our house!

Hopefully I can come up with enough interesting things to "blog" about!
