Tonight we had Salisbury Steak, mashed potatoes and peas. Awhile back I had bought fresh hamburger patties (5 pounds) and then froze them in packs of 4. I did not have any of those left for tonight, so I just made my own patties! They turned out even better than the premade patties and regular hamburger is cheaper!! So, I am saving some money there. I cook the hamburger patties with one cup of water with brown gravy mix poured over top for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. I made mashed potatoes, peas and more gravy so I could pour it over my potatoes and the meat.

I had just enough left over for lunch tomorrow. I think I may have to put that on the menu more often. It was really good. Oh, I have also found that the name brand instant potatoes are much better than the store brand. The store brand ones were much stiffer and drier, no matter if you added extra milk and water. The name brand ones are so much more creamy.

My house is so so hot! I have turned off the AC a few weeks ago since the highs were in the 70's. Now the highs are in the mid-80's and our house is old and the windows don't open up. So, we are using fans and suffering. But, we will have a really cheap bill in the end. I am looking forward to that.
