Having a mini-stress out...

I'm so excited to be able to adopt. It will give me the chance to have the child my husband and I always wanted. So, the fees will be up to $25,000. Then I think when the baby is here, they will need "stuff". With my minimalist approach, I don't need a ton of "stuff". But, I have nothing right now for a baby. So, how am I going to have enough money for the fees, for the furniture, clothes, diapers, etc, for everything! I just thought back to the match we turned down where the lawyer had told us the birthmom would need $1,000 for maternity clothes. I think of all the clothes I could buy for $1,000! I could probably get enough clothes to buy a new outfit each day for a month! Way more than anyone would need.

So, I'm just a little stressed about the money. I know that we are making good progress in our saving...it's just never going to be enough.

I just need to calm down, breathe and things will be alright. Everything will work out....eventually.

    Relax! I never thought I would have enough... of anything.

    Every single thought about 'stuff' leaves your mind the second they place your child in your arms!

    Babies don't care that their clothes belonged to someone else. They don't care that the blanket was handmade and has more flaws than they have fingers and toes combined... what they do care about is that there are arms wrapped around them, comforting them, feeding them...

    LOVING THEM

    Put the word out to friends and family as to your basic needs, but hold off on 'stuff' until you know more about your child.

    Don't worry it will fall from the sky. You'll still have a shower. Relatives will want to gift you things. Everyone will dump their stuff at you. You'll see. Check out garage sales.
