Yesterday, I realized I was getting low on Italian Seasoning....I have about 50 bottles of spices in our spice cabinet. That seems like a lot of spices for someone to have who does not do a lot of cooking. My cooking consists of very simple items and I probably use 5 of those spices on a regular basis.

So, I went through all the spices in the cabinet and tossed all the spices that I would never use again and the ones that were expired (a couple expired in 2007 & 2008). Several of them didn't have expiration dates and I can't remember when I bought them! I ended up tossing about half of the spices. I will date all the new spices I buy with the date purchased if it doesn't have an expiration date. I still have unused spices in a spice rack I got for our wedding (5 & 1/2 years ago!). In the trash those go!

Now, my spice cabinet only has spices I use and they are all in date. I have a lot more room in that cabinet now.....

The next question is what do I go through next?
