One thing leads to another

DH announced Saturday morning that he was going to work on the lighting in my sewing room. The lighting that has been broken for the last 5 years. Great! Finally!
I got back from grocery shopping and he's been up in the attic preparing stuff ... nothing is actually done yet. He asks what I want to do about the light switch being behind the bookshelf. That's fairly simple, we'll take stuff of the shelves and slide it out from the wall a few inches so we can reach the switch.
So there's books and fabric piled waist deep in the room and we move the shelf and DH says it would be better to put this shelf down in the basement and take a narrower shelf out of his office and put it in the sewing room.
First we clear out the spot in the basement where I had a small 3 ft bookcase with hobby supplies on it, and an old tv stand being used for storage. It doesn't take long before there's boxes everywhere and furniture moved around. The old tv stand went up to DH's office for his printer and the old 3ft shelf got loaded in the car with an old lamp and a box of books for charity.
Sunday morning we started to move the big shelf and it starts to fall apart. It's put together with pegs and it's loosened up over the years or something. After a lot of swearing and wrestling with it we get it back together and move it down to the basement where we discover it won't go around the corner into the family room. We decide it will have to be taken apart.
So, took it apart, moved it, put it back together, turned it right side up and it fell apart again. We wrestled with it upright trying to get the bottom support piece on and the shelves lined up. Finally, I thought I was going to pass out when it was over.
DH is moving boxes of his hobby books downstairs, that's where we do all that stuff anyway. The we will move his shelf into my room and I can move the piles of fabric back into place.
But there still won't be any lights!
