  1. Another One Bites the Dust

    Another tomato plant dead this morning. One of the ones I seeded.

    As of today, out of roughly 40 seeds started I have 4 remaining plants. That's a 90% loss rate. Every year I tell my self never again, and then like an idiot I go and plant seeds the next year.

    Oh well, maybe I can pick up another heirloom tomato or a yellow variety this weekend. The hardware store next to the grocery has their vegetables marked down.

  2. Weeds and Wetness

    We finally got rain after a two week dry spell. I went out this morning and weeded and checked things over.

    Some nasty little tree rat dug up and killed one of my red bell pepper plants trying to hide an unripe strawberry. Grr! I replaced it with one of the two left over I still had in the nursery pack. I had to wash it off first, it was covered in aphids. (ICK!)

    The nursery tomatoes are all doing well, the heirloom one is doing really well. I will need to get cages ...

    So far so good. The ravioli is long gone. I have started on the box of popsicles. They got half melted at some point, and I doubt most kids would eat them, but I am fine with it. And it's my own fault they are in the shape they are. I also started on the sausage and egg patties. There are 3 left.
