I have several chronic conditions and one could put me on total disability. I live alone, make a decent living, and am 56. I have to start again, right where I am, with the help of God. I hope to make it to 62 and retire with a full pension and social security. My condo will be paid off by then and I should have a $30,000 emergency fund, a $30,000 car replacement fund and no other debt. I'll have a small amount in a 403b but my monthly expenses and medical insurance will be covered by my pension.
