I've got a huge (and I do mean huge!) list of things that I want accomplished over the next few years. I need to see it in writing though. I hope to post a little every day, and keep myself on track. I'm a single mom with a fulltime job, so as some may understand, I'm usually exhausted and prefer to watch movies or read with my spare time. I'm attempting to change that.
Here are my longer term goals:
1. Save up for a down payment on a cheap house (if I stay in the town I'm at now, the houses don't go over $100,000)
2. Fill up my emergency fund to cover a year's worth of bills. Right now I've just hit the $2,000 mark, although I do use money from this account from time to time. I'm aiming for about $24,000. OMG, that sounds like a lot.
3. Finish decluttering my house (got a good start this summer)
4. Paint my kitchen and 2 upstairs bedrooms. I'm renting a small house from my dad, and I have only painted the living room. I hate the colors he had in here, and still feel like I'm a visitor in his house, so I'm slowly trying to make it MINE
5. Save up for my Disney trips. Yes, I know it's dreadfully expensive, but it's been my dream to go back since I went when I was 9. I have already saved for a trip to Disneyland next year, and am starting on saving for Disney World for my 40th birthday in 2014.
6. Finish my schooling. I currently work in a small daycare here, and am taking my Early Childhood Education by distance ed. I'm halfway done!
7. I need to get ready (early) for the craft sales in November. I missed last year, because I put it off too late and didn't have enough ready. I make cards, card kits, treat bags, photo boxes, etc.
8. I would like to start now with making some Christmas gifts. I will be buying most of them, but I'd like to at least make a few.
9. Try one new recipe a week. I did this for a bit last year, and with great success. I have a whole binder full of recipes I want to try!
10. Make a big dent in my scrapbook/cardmaking stash!
That's it for the big stuff. I'll post some pics next time!
