  1. Tuesday...

    by , 02-22-2011 at 04:31 PM
Today the kids and I are all sick with the flu.
We stayed home and did some laundry and cleaned up a little.
It's nice & warm, so I opened the windows to air out the house. Collected 6 eggs from the hens.
This past weekend, we adopted 3 more baby chicks. (1 is a rooster) They are so cute & fuzzy.
    Just love them!

Tomorrow, if I feel better, I need to work on March's budget.

  2. Rainy Monday...

    by , 11-15-2010 at 04:23 PM

It's been raining all day. It's cool & nasty outside.
I sewed & quilted a tablerunner for my sister-in law for Xmas.
Tomorrow I'm going to try to start wrapping the presents before we put the tree up next week.
Made 2 loaves of french bread for the freezer.
Collected 5 eggs from the hens, including one that is green.

  3. Thrifty Thursday

It's so warm & sunny today. Going to be around 72*.
So, I washed a load of laundry in cold water & hung them on the line outside to dry.
Received 40 more coupons for the $1/1 Ivory soap in the mail today. So, this week-end, I'll be able to get 40 3-bar packs for a total of $2.80 plus tax. That's 120 MORE bars of soap to stockpile. I think that will give us a total of around 300 bars of soap!
That's about a 5+ year supply for us.

  4. Been almost a year...

    by , 10-01-2009 at 11:14 PM
I just realized that it's been almost 1 year since my last blog entry.
I really need to get back to doing it more often. Keeps me more frugal.
We are still debt free (except the house).
We are currently remodeling the kitchen & replacing all ours windows in our house.
Paying for it all in cash that we SAVED!
    What a great feeling.
Needing to start making some Xmas gifts.

  5. Frugal Monday~

    by , 11-03-2008 at 11:12 PM
Have to try to get back into the habit of blogging. It keeps me in a frugal "mindset".
Today I washed 2 loads of laundry in cold water with only 1 tablespoon of detergent in each load. I have just opened a Box of Sun, 150 loads. I'm trying to see how long it will last.
Was able to deposit $70 in savings today. Our EF is slowly growing.
Hoping to make the last payment on our credit card in February. After that, we will be DEBT FREE except the mortgage. ...
