I am the kind of person who makes technology work long past it's Due. I don't mind huge monitors and vcr's and I still buy tapes at garage sales. But, this is the frustration of my technophile DH and his spawn.
It was xmas so I gave in. We got a new flat screen,a blue ray,a Wii, and a ps3. My DH gave me his old flat screen and he got a new monitor and phone from his company. The technopiggies squealed w/ delight.
I could care less. I rescued my 100# tv w/ my now old dvd/vcr combo ...

Farewell to 2009 and I think we did- fare well.

As a few last financial acts we
-paid off our road assessment from paving the road 6 years ago and
Brought our BEF up to $1500. Sorry Dave Ramsey $1000. in this climate did not work.

Family and pets remained intact this year even though our dog (broke his butt) got injured recently for $300.!!!

We managed to pay cash for xmas,2 sememsters of tuition and books as well as graduation.

We are on the bugetwise plan where we pay the same every month so I don't get hit w/ a big bill in the winter months. I always pay a little xtra every year because no estimation will be perfect. However, this year they say my electric usage has gone up 36%. This is settlement month and I owe 438.00 just before xmas. Thank you. My DH works from home now and my DD goes to college so perhaps this accounts for the diff. ??? But..

The new amt. is $166. up from 148. So assuming no inflation ...
