Well this is my first post. Really just checking this freature out and seeing how to use it.

I guess I will start with what I am doing today, and what I still have planned. We will see what really gets done.

On the frugal front I have a roast in the oven with vegtables cooking on low. The roast I bought was twice the size as the piece I have in the oven now. We are cutting down on eating beef. So cutting the roast in half makes just enough for a meal now and one in the future. The veggies are mostly things I have dehydrated over the summer and I find they are best in things that are cooked a while. A little bit of mixed veggies, onions, carrots and there are little red potatoes that are fresh.

Over the last few days I have arranged my big stand up freezer and taken inventory. This is what I have done. In my kitchen freezer I have a basket that I have put the meat/protien part of this weeks meal in along with and frozen veggies I plan to use. In the standup freezer in the garage I have the same type of baskets and have also put a variety of 5 protein entrees in them, one night of the week will be leftovers and one will be meatless, like a pasta dish. Most of them are fishx3, one chicken, and one beef.

I also have two baskets that are extras (fish and chicken and some meatless things-boca burgers and such) The plan is going to be I can see at a glance how many weeks I have meat for and how to fill in any gaps for the coming weeks. I can always trade one like thing for another in a basket. Like I bought the roast and instead of freezing both for later I am using one today and will put the beef item I had in this weeks basket to another week. I hope this makes sense. At least I know what mean. I have a variety of frozen veggies not in the baskets I will just pick one as needed. I am hoping that things will get rotated and used more efficiently with this basket system.

I also have a small chest freezer that I moved the things I don't need to get at as often. Like flour, sugar, baking chips ect. Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. I was using all that space in the other freezer and not so much in the small chest one.

I hope to make some bread today and freeze some loaves. I also want to make some dough and freeze it. I haven't done that yet. I want to see how well it works out when you thaw it and bake it later on.

Sometime this weekend I would like to start making some cookies. And freeze for later.

We shall see how it all works out.

Geez, I had not idea I would go on and on.

Jean
