I must admit that I feel very foolish. I have not been living up to my full potential in the savings department. Before, when I would go shopping I would just buy everything, hand over my card, then the coupons. Not any more. Now I break up my purchases into different transactions to maximize my saving.

Just yesterday, I was at Walgreen's. I had 5 different transactions(I also try to go when it is less crowded, first thing in the morning or late in the evening). Tone/Dial body wash was on sale for 2 for 7.00 w/register rewards of 2.00 back. Here is how the sale went for me. I purchased 6 Tone washes and 2 Dial washes. Since I have a balance reward card, I was able to get the all the washes 2 for $7.00. That totaled up to $28.00. I had $6.00 left over from a previous transaction, now I am down to $22.00. I had 4 four coupons that totaled up to $7.00. Now I am down to $15.00. I received register rewards of $8.00 back. So I really only paid $7.00 dollars for 8 body washes. I was able to received $8.00 because I broke up the transactions. The $8.00 will be used at another time since they a limited time frame.

I also purchased 2 Ban deodorants. They were on sale for $1.99 w/balance reward card and I had 2 coupons for $1.15, plus I received 500 points in the process.

My new way to go, break up your transactions. Why I did not think of this sooner is beyond words. Glad I thought about now.
