Stuck in Los Angeles until late Wed. :( My sister is house-sitting/pet-sitting for me.

Hi - no, we didn't lose power. Just woke up to 4-5 inches of snow. Was mostly gone the next day. DH was "constructing" day before (re-running wires from our house to MIL's), and had pipes run and ditch filled in before snow (thank goodness!) You guys okay?

Hey back at you. You are so sweet Judy, thank you. I have a huge bookcase that was upstairs with hard & softcover books all fiction that I need to find a home for. When we do finally sell the house (hope it's soon) we are going to be traveling light. Hubby has not been a fan of the books but they were given to me by my neighbor for the most part and books just make me feel good. The one big thing I will miss is my cookbook collection that was in the floods path, but then again I can find alot of those recipes online now-a-days. You are so thoughtful for thinking of me. :smooch:

Yep, we're okay. Lost one tomato bush, restaking isn't an option. I had picked just about everything that was kind of close to being ready from the garden. School's cancelled - roads damaged, but not ours. We're fine, really, I guess. Can't see the river (so it's not flooded too badly right now). The ground is thoroughly saturated - walking out to the driveway, it squelches. Hope all is well at the gallery - shocking photos on msn in Brat!

Good - I should be cleaning. Notice how I'm easily distracted? How's NH? Sun's out - yay! I've missed it since Saturday.

Great to hear from you. I've been 'missing' on the boards for about a month, FIL's passing has deeply affected all around me (MIL is right next door). DH is still in a daze. I think I'm the one living closest to 'normal' right now.

This past week I've cleaned out and organized the walk-in pantry, the "Tupperware" drawer, updated pantry inventory, been canning like a madwoman, and dehydrating, taking scissors to the fat horned tobacco caterpillars (nasty business, cutting them in half), bought two insulated lunchbags and proper toteable containers for DH who said it might be cheaper to bring lunch instead of buy it (HELLO . . . ), worked for a florist on vacation two days (ahh, I missed this!), got in a little geocaching and kayak time with my stepmom, as well as work on preparedness stuff (72 hour kits need replacing), trying not to bother myself with thoughts of work.

It's really great hearing from you, I look forward to sharing accomplishments and cheerleading, as required.

Glad you got it today! Wasn't really sure what to do, after signing up - never did a swap before. I had fun, amongst my completely disorganized craft stuff, and needed the break it offered me from stress.

Got yours Thursday, thanks so much!! I don't think I've ever seen red bachelor buttons!
Yours went in mail Thursday, sent priority - only 15 cents more than parcel. Sorry it didn't go out Wed, I was a chaperone to Canobie Lake all day.

*giggle* Thanks - that was good for a chuckle at 2:40 am. Had a tooth pulled, the Vicoden wore off, just a matter of time and I'll be snoring again . . . I hope!

Hi! I missed you! Things are going well, and in all sorts of directions too, which is confusing when you have control issues like I do. But I've decided I'm not just along for the ride this time, I'm actively marching along. It's fun, but time consuming and exhausting. How are things with you?

Doing fine :) in a crazy sort of way. life has gotten crazy.. well crazier anyway. Hubby is back to work and still at it. hurray! I've got a part time job and full time college classes (UGH!) SO TIRED

Our child sort of quietly drifted away into her own life a few weeks ago. We've seen her a few times since, but not enough. Still, I suppose that's how it goes.
