Not long now. I've started to make my wedding cake, and I'm getting a little nervous that everything is going to be a big flop. The first step:

Boozing the fruit.

I've taken a 2kg bag of sultanas and am currently soaking them in a bottle (75cl, I think) of white zinfandel wine. I'll leave that for a week or so for everything to absorb, and will take it from there.

I've been so busy. It's almost painful, all this planning, but it's getting there (I hope!)

I remember when we got married - I was home alone the night before (DH took the kids to the campground, I stayed in town to get my hair done in the am. before the ceremony...) and I was still finishing up the welted vests I made for the boys to wear in the wedding - and I had never made vests before, let alone fancier ones. Had many "Why oh why" moments - right until I got to see it all together. I can assure you, when the big moment comes - all those little details you're worrying about now won't find room for thought for anyone. It's going to be beautiful.
How do you know when it's time to serve the cake? (per our wedding) When the DJ announces, mid dance - "It might be time to cut the cake or we may have to scoop it up off the floor!" Yeah, ours was tipping - outside wedding in July - go figure
