Sometimes a Small Victory ...

Today started out great. Then I got out of bed. The Old Man had mentioned something about needing kitty litter... ya whatever, don't talk to me before my coffee.
After I shook off some of the sleepies, he invited me to go to Walmart with him. Huh? Why? The grocery store 2 minutes away sells litter...
He started to list off all the things he wanted to get at the store. Wanted. Did we need new gravel for the fish tank? Did the fish even care that the gravel wasn't natural stone?
Who would have thought the phrase "Let's do more browsing than shopping" would be responsible for WWIII!
In the end, I think he finally saw how scared I am when it comes to our financial stability. Saving half the income should be easy. Breaking old habits are hard.
We went to Walmart to get the work boots he needed. Strolled through the entire store, just walking and talking. Arrived at the pet section to get litter and he walked past the gravel. When I asked him if was going to get it and he said "The fish are probably color blind anyways"
