This did not help the ol’ self-esteem bit. Over the course of the first 9 years I went from 145lbs (which at 5′1″ isn’t too bad) to a whopping — and scary — 210lbs (that’s about 50% body fat). I realized I had to deal with this. It was my 2nd lowest point in life. I swore — and have kept this promise to myself — to never return to that level of “fatness”. I wasn’t able to maintain the weight I had lost in 2005 (when I got down to a respectable 165lbs) and have returned back to my previous ...
I figured it might help people understand who I am, where I'm from and what has made me, well.. me! This is from my personal blog (see my signature and I've updated it a bit) How about at the beginning? A long time ago, God said I need somewhere to put some screwy creatures and like Emeril went *BAM*… Ok. Maybe that’s a bit too far. It is interesting to explore this side of myself and realize that perhaps I’ve been denying what I was truly desiring. For all my ...
I'm nearly giddy with joy! My fed tax refund got deposited last night and I got to pay off one of my credit cards in one fell swope. I still have state taxes to pay but they haven't figured out that amount yet. So I'll probably pay the amount that H&R Block figured it out to be. Thus far, they've been dead on for the federal version. If they get this right, then I'll definitely be going back next year and having the same rep prepare my taxes again. The difference after the State Taxes are paid ...
It's amazing how one little step can make a whole difference. Even though I started my re-birth "frugalness" (born-again Frugal? sounds like a very faithful donut!) and determination to pay off my debts, I'm finding a change in my attitude towards things. I ask myself 3-4 or more times before I buy something and have been diligent about things I'm buying. I still make mistakes and minor fall-downs but I think it's a lot less than in the past. I've even gone as far as to start a meager ...
It's interesting how today fared. About 5 years ago I had half my debt paid but over the last 5 years that crept up again. Last week I got a sticker shock from Revenue Canada and have to pay taxes to them for 2007. However, as a bonus, my federal taxes this year for the US may be enough for me to pay my state taxes, my Canadian taxes and pay off a credit card or two (my two lowest amount cards). This gives me hope and allows me to move forward in life. This week is my 39th birthday ...
