I didn't know this blog was here. So I am trying out a post.
Today marks the year anniversary of my inner ear problem. I woke up and didn't feel right at all. For 3 months no one knew what was wrong with me. I was a runner and very active, now I can only do 20 minutes of exercise at a time, and some of the time I am extremely dizzy afterwards.
I have Labyrinthitis. Its an inner ear problem that affects your balance and sometimes your hearing. I would either feel like I was on a boat all the time or that I was drunk. I went through this while working full time (still am FT).
I got this illness after having a really bad cold over Christmas in 08. I guess the stress, weather, and all the activities I was doing wore me down and the cold wouldn't go away, and voila, I have an inner ear problem.
They don't know how long it takes to go away, sometimes it can take 2-3 years. It has taken me a lot of adapting...and a lot of disappointment and certainly a big change in lifestyle. Some of it has been a welcome, such as slowing down and doing things one at a time. Some are incredibly frustrating (I enjoy wine, I can barely make it through a glass now).
So thats been me for the past year. I am determined to make 2010 a lot different than 2009 in that aspect.
