Well, it is Halloween and Day 3 of my "spend $25/week" challenge! Day 1 (Wed, Oct 29th) went well, and I followed all my meals... and the same as Day 2!! It feels good to be eating until I'm full and not to have to think about dinner or what to bring for lunch.

In order to save some money at the grocery store I made homemade bread the other night. It didn't quite get done all the way though (I wasn't sure it was done but took it out anyways because I impatiently wanted to get to Bible Study I was already late for). So, sadly, it's money down the drain because it's not really done enough to eat.

Then tonight I was going to make a 2nd loaf, instead of buy bread (I need bread for my lunches!). I was all set to do it, then realized that I'm out of yeast! No bread for me tonight!

I did originally think about going and buying bread (or yeast) tonight but since I'm already home, I thought it'd be a waste to spend gas just to go to the grocery store for 1 thing.

Then I went to cook dinner and realized I forgot to take out my frozen turkey leg to cook up! I have no microwave to thaw it in and don't want to wait a really long time while it thaws/cooks in the oven. Now what!?

Have no fear - I have a PLAN!!

Tonight for dinner I am making noodles and veggies w/butter instead of my turkey leg. I have everything I need for this, so there's no shopping involved. Tomorrow for lunch I will bring the left overs, which will make up for not having bread for a sandwich.

Then tomorrow on my way home from work I will stop and pick up either more yeast or a cheap loaf of bread. I'm thinking a loaf may be a better bet, because I am nearly out of flour and would like to not have to spend the money out of my small budget a week to buy more right now. 1 loaf should last me the next week or more and shouldn't take too much out of my grocery money. Especially if I can get one of the clearance loaves at the store.

All in all I think I'm still doing great, despite my set backs!

p.s. In other news, I still haven't turned my heat on this year! Yay for saving electricity! AND I'm moving on Monday to a new apartment in my building. My current apartment gets no air or natural sunlight so I am forced to leave lights on all day (my cat is home when I'm not and I want her to have some sort of day time light). This eats up electricity... but in my new apartment I won't have that problem! YAY!
