Up until about 6-9 months ago I spent all Sunday cleaning my home. Now I do little on Sundays, and the house has been showing it. So today I got some stuff done. Not as much as I wanted. Of course, my workout was put off as usual. Instead I need to put myself first.
Since we have started eating more fresh food and very little processed, I haven't done much in way of coupons. Got out my coupon basket today and cleaned it out. I had some inserts from last Dec. Now I only kept Aug. I will move forward from there. I also set myself up a notebook with different tabs for things like household schedule, budgeting, personal. I did all of my laundry, and it is put away. I have one more load of towels in the dryer. When they are done I will fold and put away all loads. DD does her own laundry. I picked up all the extra things my dd left around and dumped it in her room. Tired of her just throwing stuff everywhere no matter how much I yell and punish. All dishes in dishwasher and were washed. I went to put them away and found out dd had put large knife in the compartment in front of the soap so it didn't open. Dishes had to be redone. Yes she has been told a million times not to do that.....gggrrrrhhhhhh.
Made it to 3 grocery stores for the sales. If on sale I will also put regular price. I know for some of you that you get things at prices everyday better than our sale prices.

Last thing for the day. I really wanted some sushi. I thought about buying it at grocery store. It is actually pretty good and made fresh in front of you. It keeps going up in price and one I like is almost $9 so instead I got some black eye peas with sausage I had in the freezer and ate that. I did remember a Groupon for local hole in wall diner that has very good sushi. I went and purchased a $30 one for $15. Only $6 more than my roll by itself would have been. Will make a quick meal for me and dd as a special treat.
That got me thinking. One of my goals in this whole thing is also to be more social. Once my dd leaves next year, I doubt I will get out more than every few weeks for a little food at the grocery. People say I will become a recluse. I used to date a lot, but I no longer do. Sick of the men available at my age. All I seem to find are losers. I remember I had seen on Living Social a very nice restaurant near Miami Beach that give sushi lessons every Monday night. You learn to make sushi, eat what you make, and drink saki. it is normally $75. With Living Social it is $35, and I had $20 in deal bucks in my account to I hit the button and purchased for $15. Now someone stay on me to make a reservation and actually get out and go do it. I would love to make my own sushi. Way cheaper than eating it out.
So while I wouldn't call this a frugal day, there was parts that on starting me on the right track to changing my life and getting the one I want: financially, socially, etc.
