  1. New year and new goals

    So, 2011 has started and it is a new year and I have new goals for myself. I am newly single, but have a I'm not totally on my own. He is sure teaching me a lot about self-control and budgeting. He made up an elaborate budget linked to a ledger so that I can track my expenses better. I'm excited to be using it.

    Here are some things that I'd like to do this year:

    1) Keep Grocery Budget to $100/month
    2) Keep Eating Out Budget to $100/month ...
  2. Day didn't really turn out as expected

    Well the day started out normal enough with the plan to get my uni assignment completed today...that was until my computer start doing rather weird screen stuff and freezing. Investigations showed that this was a known, now unfixable fault with the laptop. So a new computer was in order. Luckily hubby has the store finance card and the department stores have 40 months interest free at the moment.

    Gonna spend another anniversary along. Had to miss my vacation, due to dd's health problems - so dh and MIL are gone on the vacation that will include our anniversary.
  4. January 7th in a California Garden

    This time of year, there isn't much to report. The ground is too wet to plant anything, and the weather is too cold for anything to germinate. The most exciting part of this month was the beginning, when ALL the seed catalogues started showing up! Time to plan and dream!

    One thing I have been doing is saving yogurt cups, so I can start a few seeds inside in March or early April. I may also try buying some started plants this year, as well, but I haven't made up my mind yet. The plants ...

    Well it is a new year. Even though every day is a do over. I like to take a little more time and reevaluate my goals. This year My goal is to have my payments covered by investments and of course to be debt free. We were contacted by a company to put a wind turbine on a 40 acre parcel I am paying on with my friend. She had not wanted to do it, but is now in agreement. The money will pretty much cover the land payment for the next 3 years we will run a small negative or break even after taxes and ...
