  1. It's official!

    We signed the dotted line for the kitchen cabinets and countertop. Total cost will be about $9000, half of which we already put down in a deposit. We also bought a dishwasher and range hood, for $1100. Now all we need to do is buy the backsplash tile and decide on the flooring. August will be an expensive month!

    On top of that we received a dental treatment plan for myself for $6500!!! I about fainted. Insurance will only cover $2500. I am looking for a second opinion from ...

    Sorry for the long absence everyone. I had a slight problem with my heart over the winter months and now sport a brand new piece of equipment called a pacemaker. I feel much better now. However other areas in my life have suffered.

    What are we up to these days?

    Quickly checking in to catch up on reading threads and posts. Also an update on debt repayment.
    My dh changed our plans on how to spend our tax rebate. We were going to make an extra payment towards our home equity loan. Instead....He has been wanting to trade in his 2 door pontiac G6. It had 113,000 miles on it and was not practical for traveling with our day care clients. The back seat was useless. Most of us couldn't get in and out of it.     It has been a year since joining the Frugal Village forums and living a frugal lifestyle. I have learned a lot and developed many frugal habits. My husband has also changed his spending habits. Our debt has significantly been reduced in the past year by reducing our spending and using the savings to pay off debt. We continue to snowball payments.
