It's the end of July and it's an odd week. DH gets paid tomorrow (the 24th) and our grocery bi-weekly spending is on the following Sunday. I already cut off the month of July as far as budgeting our grocery cash in and I was ahead. I decided that I needed some things, so I went to the store and figured I would snag another 4lbs worth of blueberries to stockpile before they go out of season. I also needed to check on the price of potatoes and if Superstore sold the items I needed
I had to show the sweater separately, otherwise it got lost in the blanket. The sweater is made from the Moda Dea Dream yarn, left over from making Carmel's prayer shawl. I got it on sale for .49/skein at the time. The fleece was bought in the remnant bin at Jo-Ann's for less than $1 ( got 2 blankets from it, one for a boy and this one). . . the bib is from some cone cotton yarn, that I'm using to make dish cloths for Christmas
Not much planned here today. . . . basically just trying to stay cool. We have actual temps in the mid 90's with humidity in the 80%'s . . . makes it feel like it's 110 or higher.
There is a severe thunderstorm watch for today. . . hope it will at least cool things off.
Marty is at camp -- he called early this morning to check on me. Apparently, all the fans running at camp, blew the circuits - so no power after 11:00 PM. They sweltered.
I'm going to
So this week was filled with ups and downs. Actually, the last few weeks have been.
The Good: Dh and I are finally in a better place after weeks of arguing about finances. Originally, he wanted to split all the bills so that I would need to get a second job. I knew I needed to, but he was "putting his foot down". After a huge heart to heart, we decided (well, I put my foot down) that we weren't going to split anything, but I still needed to get another job. That leads to
We had to go to the bank this morning to redo our mortgage. Adjustable rate, every 3 years. Our payment actually went down a few dollars each month - -we'll keep paying the same, and just pay it off quicker (this is the last time we have to redo the mortgage!)
Then we went to Walmart, to get Jake's birthday present -- how is it possible that he's 24 already?
Anyway -- I'm beyond tired, and my foot is swollen so bad, you can hardly see my toes.
