So this week was filled with ups and downs. Actually, the last few weeks have been.
The Good: Dh and I are finally in a better place after weeks of arguing about finances. Originally, he wanted to split all the bills so that I would need to get a second job. I knew I needed to, but he was "putting his foot down". After a huge heart to heart, we decided (well, I put my foot down) that we weren't going to split anything, but I still needed to get another job. That leads to
We had to go to the bank this morning to redo our mortgage. Adjustable rate, every 3 years. Our payment actually went down a few dollars each month - -we'll keep paying the same, and just pay it off quicker (this is the last time we have to redo the mortgage!)
Then we went to Walmart, to get Jake's birthday present -- how is it possible that he's 24 already?
Anyway -- I'm beyond tired, and my foot is swollen so bad, you can hardly see my toes.
I got absolutely NOTHING accomplished at home today. By the time I took a bath, washed my hair and got dressed, I was exhausted. . . then it was time to go to the doctor for a follow up on my surgery. I'm not healing quite as well as they'd hoped, so my staples are still in place, and I'm still NO weight bearing Still can't take a bath or shower
Now, I'm exhauted, weak and depressed. My leg has areas that are numb, and some that are hypersensitive. My hip joint is having
my incisions - WARNING -- *GRAPHIC* and gross. Do not view if you have a weak stomach.
I guess I should get back here more often, but life just gets in the way.
In april, our nearly 15 year old grey, Penny, was euthanized. Osteosarcoma of the pelvis. She was in pain, and it was our time to say goodbye.
In May, Gus our 14.5 year old grey, Gus, was euthanized after living a month pain free post osteosarcoma diagnosis. Amputation was not an option.
We had a bit of sadness and still miss them greatly. Doug and Yardman are doing well.
