  1. I think I actually did it!

So. We have an apple tree that produced a lot of apples this year, after nothing last year. The apples are kind of small and tart, but not crab apples. We've also had a bumper crop of rhubarb - have harvested it three times this year already and on Saturday we harvested about another 26 cups (diced in one-inch pieces). 3. Fingers crossed

I sprayed the fruit trees with a copper fungicide today. It won't be long until the peach trees blossom. This time of year is when I watch the weather forecast with baited breath. Statistically, we get peaches one out of three years due to frost damage. 2008 was an incredible year for peaches. In 2007, we lost the peaches and the apples to a late freeze. That year there was no tree fruit of any kind. All I can do is hope that we dodge the bullet one more year.
