Tonight is a date night! Yaaay!
Dh and I are going out for Indian food, either to our favorite (Surabhi) or one we haven't tried before (Tandoor). Then off to see Romeo and Juliet! This is a very different staging of it; there are no seats. The action takes place all around the audience. I'm told you can even dance at the ball! So long as no-one expects me to pick up a rapier or speak in couplets, it should be great fun.
I've been having a wonderful time with my autoharp. So worth buying, even if it meant we have to wait to replace the rickety old computer desk.
Not such a great time with my YDD. After reminding her several times that she's to be working on an assignment, and that it's one I have to mail in for a grade, she said "The grade really doesn't matter Mommy. Just as long as I'm learning, it's OK". Well. Um. Sure. Wow. This when she's 5. Her teenage years should be a hoot, assuming I survive that long. When I mentioned this to DH he said to tell her that she's not learning anything if she's not working. Except she IS learning (she read words this week!), and doing a lot of work. Just...not this work. Truthfully, it's a ridiculous assignment.
I haven't touched the bathroom scale all month. I'm sure I'm back where I started. But so many other things are going well and coming together, I think I'll cut myself some slack and skip the 'what a failure' lecture. Baby steps!
