I just saw that this recipe used a mix. All I did was use 1 1/4 cup of warm water, 2 tablespoons butter, 3 cups of bread flour, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of bread machine yeast.
So I guess I did not follow the recipe as posted by Saule. I'm sorry. I guess I really need to read and follow the REAL instructions.Hello from Sunny Central Florida

The ingredients disappeared during the forum upgrade - this recipe is from Gold Medal
Ingredients
5 lbs bread flour
1 cup powdered milk
2/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons salt
Then follow the directions as in the first post for this thread.

Thanks Saule for the ingredients. I will try this again (the right way) using your list of ingredients. I can see where the use of powdered milk would be a great asset to the recipe.

Because I don't use it that often, I find it most economical to just buy one cup of milk at the bulk food store.

Bought some powdered milk today. I will make the mix and will make a loaf with it tomorrow.
