    Talking Just one year ago...

~My ds was sedated for extensive dental work. He was 6.5 with Sensory Integration Disorder and anxiety issues. He'd been to the dentist many times by then but would only permit the hygienist to brush his teeth.
Well last week he had his first ever full cleaning. He allowed the polisher, water spray and suction! My DH took the day off of work to take him to his appointment and was so proud of him that they went to the toy store after.
I'm so incredibly proud of him! And his teeth are in great shape too. ~

How awesome! I would be so proud too. I know SID is hard to deal with, but I'm glad to see how much progress was made in just a year!

Wow that is great! My oldest has no special issues but we have a HUGE dentist/needle issue. He does great with the hygienist but forget having a cavity filled. At 13 (just this past summer), 5'9" and 165/170lbs of anxiety ridden muscle it took us three trips to the dentist to get one cavity filled and that was a HUGE accomplishment for him.
