    Arrow Autism awareness month

    April is autism awareness month. Please take the time to educate yourself about Autism. I consider myself thankful that I had educated myself about Autism prior to my son having issues. I am also thankful for the network of support that I have found while educating myself, my family, my friends, and even medical professionals.

    It is only through education that we can help advocate for our children and help to inform others of the myths that are often coupled with this disorder.

    It is through education that there is always hope that we can somehow make a difference to gain better resources and support.

    Sara,

    I also have a son with Autism, and I think that awareness is a key issue in helping our children grow and be able to be all they can be in life. So many people equate autism with "Rainman" when that is so not the norm.

    How old is your son?
