Twen-Ten Camping Season!

Is it time to go camping? We've been thinking about it here! Holland MI in May, we think. Even thinking about a wkend in April....
SO- I watched Sandra Lee yesterday & she was camping with this huge gas grill (!) & she made this:
take a flour tortilla & layer on-only on a half side--
marshmellow creme
banana slices
choc chips
crumbled graham crackers
fold over, wrap in foil & put on grill for a few minutes. When she opened the foil, she then put it on a plate & drizzled caramel ice cream topping over it. Can you believe this??? Sounds like heaven!!!!

She even said you could do these in the oven.
So, campers... I've been reading my camping websites, dreaming about "gettin the heck out of dodge". How about you???

we can't go camping until May at the earliest... just plain yucky before that....unless this heat wave keeps up and then maybe we could go earlier.....
We love to go camping...and the kids are so excited all ready... and i to am becoming really excited to because we purchased a camper, we used tents before but dh and i decided that we would be more suited to having a camper... so we bit the bullet and purchased one from his sister....she gave us a really really good deal on it so we are all so exited to see the snow leave and the sun to come out and shine...

Love reading your posts about camping - used to love to camp out.....be sure to post more as you do go camping!! Anticipation is a definite part of the fun.

We love camping. I can not wait. Not sure exactly where we are going to go this year. I will have to keep every one updated.

We are hoping to take our new grandson camping this summer. Nothing like getting them started early!

I've already got my site booked for this summer. Last year I took my 4yr old son camping at the beach for a week, just the two of us. It was so great I booked the exact same site and the same week this year!

I would go camping more often but its just way too much darn work with me being the only adult.

But yes, totally looking forward to it!

We usually head out for the first time in April, but with the hubby's work schedule we'll be going out in May. I can't wait. I have the "itch" to get out there already. We've had some 60 degree days here, it just screams "Camping!" to me.

. The beach sounds so relaxing! The camper is still covered. But already I've picked up hot choc mix, Dixie plates, on sale for the camper. I thot I would start picking up supplies when I go the store... Let's get ready!!!!!!

All right folks...it's almost here or here-CAMPING!!

Where you going? what are you planning?
We took off the cover yesterday. Hubby & friend will spend Sat fixing more of our vintage GranVille (you know those special friends-trading work). I've got a green bag that I have started to fill-hot choc mix, choc syrup, catsup, mustard, etc. And of course the first aid kit.. steri strips, bandaids, ABT salve, childrens Tyl etc. Gosh, that stuff is expensive. I just fixed us a turkey leg ($1.72) in the crockpot this week. The last few minutes I covered it with bbq sauce/delish! I thot ..hey, this would be good when we go camping. Cook it before we go, warm it up on the grill! Ok-hodge podge of ideas...what's yours?

We're headed out next weekend!

I need to get planning - find my "what to pack" planning sheets. They're saved as a bookmark online somewhere. I just need to find them. Plan my meals, start packing, drain our camper & flush it.

Oh, and we just started a remodeling project. The house is in chaos right now, but hubby says we're going. He needs a break.

DF's friends have their sites booked at diff parks throughout the summer and have invited us to join them for a day or two/location. I would really love to take them up on it - its pretty camping but they do have two small children. Not into this military style survival type camping!!
