    Bungi cords!

I just came back from a week of camping and had the best time!

I love to cook on the campfire. there was a heavy metal grate over the fire ring so one night I cooked peppers & onions in a frying pan over the fire. Veggies in foil work great too with a little oil S&P. And don't forget to wrap potatoes in foil and cook directly in the hot coals.

This works great if you do the potatoes at night, then they are ready to go for homefries in the morning. Ended up making the most awesome potato hash with leftover peppers & onions and italian sausage. Scramble an egg or two and you have a very tasty breakfast! Yumm!

We just got back from camping, too! The hash sounds yummy! I went to the DG store & bought spray bottles for a dollar each. I already had one with vinegar h2o, gave up using those bleach wipes-they are so expensive! One spray bottle I put in a mix of Fabuluso, 1$ @ DG, & h2o, for a deodorant spray for the stool. I read this on a rv website-spray in stool/smells wonderful! Then with the other I filled with h2o & dish detergent. The vinegar & dish detergent bottles sits in a recycled ice cream bucket in the sink. We boondocked-so I had recycled gal jugs filled with h2o from home, for our "spit baths". Used about a gal a day for 2 people.
What are other ideas we all can use?

Loads of great ideas here. . . . we tent camp, and backpack. we use the 2 gallon zip lock bags for pillows. . . insert a straw and blow air into them, to sleep. Let the air out to pack.

We just got back from camping @ Portland, IN-the largest Gas & Steam Engine show in US..so they say. Good time. I have never saw so many campers in one spot. AND I can't believe what people will camp in!!! Amazes me! As long as it works for them-so be it. The Fabuluso spray, used with each flush-worked great! We didn't need to use the bottled deodorizer in our black tank. Just a couple of sprays needed.
Food- Meals were eaten @ the camper...saving $'s. Lunches were sandw's, chips, & fruit. I cooked chicken thighs & had that ready in a zip lock. We had salads topped with chicken & chicken nachos-yum. Also the usual, hamb's, brats.. I made iced tea every day using cold brew bags & that turned out great. We took our own ice cream, but noticed it was 3$/cup @ the concessions. I do plan to pack an apron for the next adventure. Any camping ideas out there?

Am I really the only camper out there? We finished our camping season 2010, last week. We went to Frankenmuth, MI. Wonderful time! Now to clean out the camper. Taking in anything a mouse might make a home in!! The frig is open right now to completely dry & then I will put in a plate of bbq charcoal in frig & freezer. Cushions off the dinette, wrapped in a used plastic tablecloth. Pillows brought in & fluffed in dryer. Sleeping bags aired on the porch, fluffed on air dry, & dryer sheets placed inside. Dryer sheets placed everywhere & anywhere. Hubby will winterize the drains. Plus I write a note to myself-a "cya next year" & put it in a cupboard-to find next year. But~~ after hauling all the "stuff" in, I found I packed WAY too much & I will definitely WON'T do it next year~~I hope. Share with us your winterizing ideas....

Going on our last camping trip of the year next week.
Will be sleeping directly on the beach for 5 nights.
Tonight I am doing the menu planning.

We are going to try something different with our clothes this time. I'm taking two plastic totes with me, one for all the clean clothes and one for the dirty to go in. Last time we had some rain and our clothes got damp I'm hoping the totes will keep them dry.
