Thanks for reminding me of just a few of the reasons why I love being a Canadian. And for all the laughs!

At least half of those apply to Minnesotans as well.
And I have at least three bags of Smarties in my freezer right now.

LOL. This about covers it. I suppose many Canadians like How I Met Your Mother?
That Robin character is teased quite a bit. I cannot stay bitter though.

We live in western NY state. We watch the Buffalo Sabres play hockey on the tv. They play both national anthems before their games. my 2 1/2 year old now sings "Oh, Canada!" whenever he sees the American flag!
We love our neighbors to the north!

I was in Canada for a Styx concert, because it was in Larry Gowan's home town. Anyway, the first thing we thought was cool was standing in line in the bank and hearing A Criminal Mind over the speakers.
We went to breakfast and I didn't know what back bacon was. The waitress could only tell me it was from the back. The friend I was with says, " I bet it's like Canadian Bacon we have." So I ordered it and it was only cut thicker.
I loved that trip and would love to go back again. Oh, I didn't see anyone mention John Candy or Dan Akroyd.Jeanne

I had my 1st snowbird experience in FL this winter. Amazing to see all the Canadian flags flying. At least 3 or 4 flying in their yards, decals on their cars & campers, tshirts, hats, pins saying "almost Canadian", we would say our pledge, Canadians would say theirs. But found out real quick not to ask "how long are you here for?", got shot down real quick... USA only allows Canadians 6 months here. That was what I was told-in a not too friendly manner. Very sensitive subject..... I will definitely be buying an USA flag to proudly fly next season, in front of my camper.

when you take off your shoes in the house.
when you get angry/ confused/ bemused that americans don't take off their shoes in the house.11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.
