Candles!
I just got into making candles! I haven't been around that much because I found this new hobby.
I have found that I don't really like clipping coupons anymore. Is that so terrible? I just don't want to take the time anymore. I have been so busy checking out candle things on the web. I hope to make this a small business for me in the next few years. DH is building me a workcenter in our backyard shed. Isn't that cool?
I poured some candles last night and it was fun. I got wax everywhere but oh well....I had fun right?!

Also, if you don't want to clip coupons, then don't. Life is too short to do things that you don't HAVE to do and that you don't enjoy!

I like making candles too, though I don't do it very often any more. There are a lot of good candle supply sites on the web, have fun!

Misty, I didn't buy a kit. I just did a lot of research and bought what I thought were the best supplies out there. I am burning a mango papaya right now and it is AWESOME! Very fruity and tropical smelling. You can smell it all over my house. I love this. Thanks guys for helping to ease my coupon guilt. You are all right, life is too short to do things we don't want to do. I will post some pics when I can convince my neighbor to use her digital camera for me. Thanks again!

That sounds great!! I'd like to try it myself. What are some of the best sites for beginners who know absolutely nothing about candle-making? I love scented candles. I'l love to give them as gifts. I'm anxiously awaiting pics also!
Nothing can taste as good as being thin will feel.

I have checked into making candles a couple years back and it seemed there was so much debate on how to get ther right throw of scent and a slow burn and a burn all the way down to the bottom....
I got so confused I just gave up.
If the scent is filling up your house, I'd say you got it right!! That's wonderful!
I'd like to make a few dozen because we love candles in the winter.

Can I get some simple recipies to get me started? I used to make soap, but we moved and our new place has only a tiny counter {I make it bigger by putting a reasturant size cutting board across the sink} Can you make candles in the microwave? DH and I are wanting to get our craft supplies together and maybe hit a few shows in the spring. TIA

I recently gave up my business of candlemaking. Being pregnant, the smells made me feel faint.I also thought when would I have time to make candles with a newborn and 3 other kids! Plus we needed the candle room for a bedroom

Once the baby is older I may jump back in it....who knows.
Here's some sites I've used while candlemaking if anyone is interested....
