If anyone has ever used these to make other kinds of candles, you know, melt them down. They are long burning, but I would like scented candles if I'm going to have to use candles during a storm, so I was wondering if I could just melt them down and put them into votive containers and add scent?
You could, but you don't need to. Just put a drop or two of the scent on the top of the candle before you light it. I use essential oils most of the time, but occasionally use a perfume.

So, have you had a storm and tried this? We had a horrible one last Thursday, and I lit several candles to read by because it was setting my nerves on edge (and the cat's too!)

Honey, I live in hurricane country. We ALWAYS have storms, although this year hasn't been bad. Power only went out once for about an hour. Not bad at all. But hurricane season isn't over until December 1, so I'm not letting my guard down!
