I live at the beach and have a zillion shells. This is a great idea. Id like to learn how to make the ones that have the small shells melted into them like pillar candles but larger around.

Megan,

I once saw someone making those sea-shell candles ... believe it or not, she was using sand as a mold. She could dig a hole the size of the candle, line it with shells, pour it, shape it, etc. Was interesting to see. I'm not sure of any simple home solutions.

Our few candle efforts managed to get wax everywhere. It obviously takes some practice. Rather than messing with temperatures and pouring and cleaning, we keep our eyes open for nice jars & containers & floating things for tealights instead.
