I have never made jelly before but am thinking about trying this. Do you mean sure-gel when you say dry pectin and could you substitute splenda for the sugar? TIA

Sure-jel is fine and yes, you can use splenda.

I wasn't going to say anything, but since you mentioned it....LOL!

Hubby keeps talking about going out in our yard and picking dandelions for salad, too, and I won't go there either. (Probably because I know what our dogs do out there in that yard...eeeewwww!)

I made some this morning , and I'm just waiting to see how it sets up. I did taste a little and it was YUMMY! I can't wait to see how everyone else in the family likes it. I made a double batch and still didn't use an entire watermelon. I'm thinking of making some syrup too.

On the way to school this morning, I stopped by the local hardware store and bought the jars and tongs. Almost ready!!

Someone brought in mangoes this morning, so think I will try some of that too!! This is sooooo much fun just anticipating the process!! I am so easily amused!!

I made two batches today, 4 pints total. I took a taste from the "residue" in the saucepan - so good!!!
